Desert Landscaping...possible?

Hey guys I need your designing help, if that could be possible...

I need to landscape my garden...I have two ideas:

(bottom one is a the pre-photoshopped idea before) see the before and after.

Any ideas ?

Does it look nice or do I need to change it?

Now, I must say any type of landscaping is difficult and the challenge is even greater when you're working with a desert type garden with lots of heat.

I'm just a novice here just testing out whether or not I have a green thumb, way to go saudi loool jk.

    Ok, do you like the desert look (think perhaps japanese garden style).. or are you interested in something lush and green? DO you want to have a small fountain added in the space, or perhaps a decorative bench so that you can go out and sit there with a nice cup of tea or coffee.

    I guess what I am asking, what do you want out of your space? and from there perhaps I can attempt to give you ideas.. I am currently starting work on our garden and getting ideas as wel speak :)
